Heavenly Father, We lift before You the marriages and families of America. You established marriage as a union of commitment, companionship, and faithful love. Teach husbands and wives to honor their vows, cherish one another, and walk together in humility, patience, and truth.

Strengthen couples burdened by financial hardship, parenting challenges, illness, disappointment, or conflict. Where trust has been broken, grant wisdom and a path toward healing. Protect those who suffer abuse, and surround them with people who will offer safety, compassion, and practical help.

Bless young people preparing for marriage. Give them discernment, maturity, and a clear understanding of faithful commitment. Guide pastors, counselors, and churches as they encourage healthy relationships and support struggling families.

Thank You for couples whose enduring love reflects Your faithfulness, for grandparents who share wisdom, and for families who serve their neighbors with generosity. Forgive us where selfishness, pride, and indifference have wounded those we love.

May our homes be places of peace, our words be gracious, and our actions reflect the love described in Your Word. Build strong marriages throughout our nation, and let their goodness bless generations to come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:4–7 NLT

“Whether we consult the soundest deductions of reason, or resort to the best information conveyed to us by history, or listen to the undoubted intelligence communicated in holy writ, we shall find, that to the institution of marriage the true origin of society must be traced.  By that institution the felicity of Paradise was consummated.” — U.S. Supreme Court Justice James Wilson ‘Lectures on the Law’ (1790)
