Heavenly Father, giver of every good gift, we lift before You those in need and the struggling people of America. Remember those who are hungry, those without shelter, families overwhelmed by bills, elderly people living in loneliness, and parents who fear they cannot provide for their children. Let none be forgotten or treated as unworthy of dignity and compassion.
Lord, open our eyes to the needs around us. Forgive us for our indifference, our quick judgments, and the times we have offered words without meaningful help. Teach us to be generous in spirit and faithful in action, remembering that whatever we do for those in need, we do unto You.
Bless the churches, shelters, charities, and individuals who serve the vulnerable. Strengthen their hands, provide the resources they need, and multiply the good they accomplish. Grant our nation’s leaders wisdom in aid, encourage honest work, and expand opportunities for families to flourish.
We thank You for every shared meal, every compassionate neighbor, every open door, and every life restored through kindness. May America grow in mercy, righteousness, and unity. Let our faith be demonstrated through love, and let our abundance become a blessing to others.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ … “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” Matthew 25:35-36,40 NIV
“Let your heart feel for the afflictions and distresses of every one, and let your hand give in proportion to your purse, remembering always the estimation of the widow’s mite. But that it is not every one who asketh that deserveth charity; all however are worthy of the inquiry, or the deserving may suffer.” — George Washington, in a letter to his nephew Bushrod Washington on January 15, 1783
