Heavenly Father, we come before You pleading for a genuine spiritual awakening in Your church across the United States of America. Awaken our hearts from spiritual slumber, and convict us of our sacred responsibility to live and speak Your truth with unwavering grace into our culture. Forgive us where we have sought the approval of the world rather than Your righteousness, or where our witness has been dimmed by compromise and apathy.
Protect Your church, O God, from being absorbed into the fleeting ways and deceptive philosophies of this world. Sanctify us by Your truth, and fill Your people with the Holy Spirit, that we may shine as salt and light in every community, city, and neighborhood across this land. Grant our pastors and church leaders bold courage, wisdom, and deep humility to lead with integrity.
Renew our love for Christ, deepen our hunger for righteousness, and restore among Your people a spirit of repentance, holiness, prayer, and obedience. May Your Church not merge into the culture around us, but faithfully bear witness to the transforming power of the Gospel and to reflect Jesus.
May revival begin in Your people and overflow into our communities for Your glory. Amen.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 NLT
“The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state. It must be the guide and the critic of the state, and never its tool. If the church does not recapture its prophetic zeal, it will become an irrelevant social club with no moral or spiritual authority.” — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., ‘Strength to Love’ (1963)
