Heavenly Father, We thank You for the blessings You have given to America and for the freedom to pursue lives of meaning, purpose, and happiness. Thank You for our families, communities, opportunities to work and serve, and for the countless Americans who quietly show kindness, courage, generosity, and compassion.
Teach us that lasting happiness is found not merely in possessions, success, or comfort, but in knowing You, walking in righteousness, loving our neighbors, and serving others. Give our nation wisdom to understand liberty as both a gift and a responsibility.
Lord, teach us contentment in a restless age. Turn our hearts from envy toward gratitude, from division toward reconciliation, and from selfish ambition toward service.
May America pursue happiness by pursuing what is good, honorable, and true. May Your presence bring us fullness of joy, and may Your blessing lead us toward peace.
Grant the American people the joy that comes from Your presence and the contentment that comes from trusting Your provision. May Your Spirit bear fruit among us—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, and self-control. Fill America with the hope, joy, and peace that come through faith in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11 ESV
“It only now remains for us to act up to those principles, which should characterize a free and enlightened People, that we may gain respect abroad and ensure happiness and safety to ourselves and to our posterity.” — George Washington address to the Pennsylvania Legislature, September 12, 1789
