Lord, we know that liberty itself is hanging in the balance in America. We also know that our struggle is not ultimately against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of darkness that seek to deceive, divide, oppress, and destroy.
Therefore, Father, we petition You to unleash the power of Heaven on behalf of this nation. Help us. Protect us. Come to our aid. Give Your people discernment to recognize what is true, courage to stand for what is right, humility to repent where we have fallen short, and wisdom to pursue peace without surrendering truth.
Infuse our leaders with a profound understanding of the responsibility entrusted to them. Remind them of their vows and their duty to preserve and protect the liberties secured to the American people. Give them wisdom, integrity, courage, and reverence for justice. May they never take our liberty for granted.
And Lord, may we never take it for granted either.
Teach us that liberty is not merely a privilege to enjoy, but a trust to steward. Help us cherish the freedoms we have inherited, defend them lawfully and faithfully, and pass them on to those who come after us.
May truth prevail over deception, righteousness over corruption, humility over pride, and unity over division. Strengthen the Church, awaken the conscience of our nation, and turn the hearts of the American people toward You.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people. Proverbs 14:34 NIV
“Liberty must at all hazards be supported. We have a right to it, derived from our Maker. But if we had not, our fathers have earned and bought it for us, at the expense of their ease, their estates, their pleasure, and their blood.” — John Adams in A Dissertation on the Canon and Feudal Law (1765)
