Heavenly Father, we thank You for the blessings You have bestowed upon America: the gifts of liberty, communities of faith, people willing to serve, and countless opportunities to care for one another. Teach the American people to seek not only private success, but the true welfare of our neighbors and of the nation entrusted to us.

Grant wisdom, humility, integrity, and courage to those who lead in public life. Preserve our country from corruption, injustice, hatred, violence, and selfish ambition. Help us establish justice, pursue domestic tranquility, strengthen families and communities, honor honest work, protect the vulnerable, and act with compassion toward those in need.

As Your Word teaches, help us “seek the welfare” of the places where we live, doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly with You. Heal divisions among Americans, restrain falsehood and contempt, and renew our devotion to truth, mercy, responsibility, and peace. Bless those who serve sacrificially in our churches, homes, schools, military, emergency services, and communities. May America look beyond its own strength and place its hope in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Philippians 2:3–4 ESV

“The foundation of our Empire was not laid in the gloomy age of Ignorance and Superstition, but at an [Epoch] when the rights of mankind were better understood and more clearly defined, than at any former period… The free cultivation of Letters, the unbounded extension of Commerce, the progressive refinement of Manners, the growing liberality of sentiment, and above all, the pure and benign light of Revelation, have had a meliorating influence on mankind and increased the blessings of Society. At this auspicious period, the United States came into existence as a Nation, and if their Citizens should not be completely free and happy, the fault will be [entirely] their own.” — George Washington June 8, 1783

Hold Fast, Spread the Word and God Save the Republic.
