Heavenly Father, we thank You for the blessings You have granted to America: for liberty, for the courage of those who serve, for families and communities that care for one another, and for every quiet act of mercy offered in Your name. Forgive us where pride has blinded us, where success has made us forgetful, and where fear or resentment has kept us from seeing the dignity of our neighbors.

Grant humility to the American people. Teach us to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with You. Give our leaders wisdom that listens, courage that tells the truth, and integrity that seeks the common good rather than personal honor. Heal divisions in our homes, churches, communities, and public life. Help us confess wrong without despair, receive correction without bitterness, and extend forgiveness without abandoning truth.

Clothe us with humility, that we may receive Your grace. Strengthen all who serve and renew our love for one another. May America be marked not by arrogance, but by gratitude, repentance, compassion, and faithful service. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6 ESV

“It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.” — Abraham Lincoln Appointing a Day of National Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer March 30, 1863
