Heavenly Father, through Your grace and strength, we bring the state of Texas before You today.
We pray Your blessing over its land, its people, and its communities—from the piney woods of the east to the western deserts, from the Panhandle plains to the Gulf Coast. Its heritage of courage, resilience and independence, its churches, its workers, its resources, its farms and ranches, its cities and small towns, and the beauty of its wide and varied land.
Protect the families and individuals who call Texas home. Shield its communities from harm, comfort those who are hurting, and supply the needs of those facing hardship. Strengthen the hands of first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, and neighbors who serve others daily. Give strength and love to families that have faced loss life and property to violent storms. Grant Texas leaders wisdom that is pure, peaceable, honest, compassionate, and just.
Renew and reinforce Your church throughout Texas. Make believers humble in spirit, courageous in truth, generous in service, faithful in prayer, and active in sharing the hope of Christ. Teach Texans to do justice, love mercy, protect the vulnerable, and walk humbly with You.
Root this state in faith, unity, and kindness. May Texan hearts be generous toward those in need, quick to love, and steadfast in times of trial. Let peace dwell in every city, town, and home. May Texas rely not merely on its size, resources, or strength, but on Your providence and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God. Hebrews 13:16 NLT
“Texans are known for their faith, strength, and resilience. Even as floodwaters raged, neighbors rushed in to rescue, comfort, and bring hope. In times of loss, we turn to God for comfort, healing, and strength.” — Governor Greg Abbott, Proclamation Concerning the July 2025 Central Texas Floods
