Heavenly Father, we thank You for South Carolina: for its people, its history, its churches, its communities, its coastline and forests, its farms and cities, and its enduring spirit of hope. We are grateful for the liberties recognized in its civic heritage, and we ask You to teach every generation to use freedom with humility, righteousness, and love.
Lord, heal what is wounded in this state. Bring reconciliation where history, race, poverty, violence, and distrust have divided neighbors. Comfort families grieving addiction, overdose, mental illness, loss, and broken relationships. Strengthen those who serve quietly in churches, schools, hospitals, recovery programs, shelters, prisons, and homes.
Give wisdom and integrity to South Carolina’s leaders. Guide them to protect the vulnerable, uphold justice, pursue peace, and govern with courage rather than pride. Bless teachers, parents, students, first responders, military families, farmers, workers, and small-business owners.
Protect the state from storms and disaster, and help its people care wisely for the land, rivers, coast, and communities entrusted to them. May South Carolina truly live its motto—“While I breathe, I hope”—by finding its deepest hope in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
