Lord Almighty, we come before You for the people of Maine — a state carved by rocky coasts, deep pine forests, and generations who have learned to trust You as their North Star.
We lift up the fishermen and lobstermen facing thinning harvests and rising costs; steady their hands and provide for their families. We pray for those trapped in addiction and for the young lives lost to overdose; bring healing, and we thank You for the hope already visible in four years of decline. Comfort Maine’s aging, often isolated elders, and surround them with dignity and community.
Lord, awaken this quiet state; pour out revival like the growing churches now testify, and draw hearts back to You. Thank You for Maine’s rugged beauty, for faithful servants past and present, and for pastors laboring in small towns and coastal villages. May the goodness You showed this state in the past, continue to bless it today. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Psalm 107:29-30 NIV
“Those who will may raise monuments of marble to perpetuate the fame of heroes. Those who will may build memorial halls to remind those who shall gather there in after times what manhood could do and dare for right, and what high examples of virtue and valor have gone before them. But let us make our offering to the ever-living soul. Let us build our benefactions in the ever-growing heart, that they shall live and rise and spread in blessing beyond our sight, beyond the ken of man and beyond the touch of time.” — Former Governor Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain Memorial Day Address 1884
