Lord of the harvest, we lift up Kansas to You today — a state whose very motto declares that the road to the stars runs through difficulty. Bless the farmers of this land, wearied by drought and thin margins; send rain to parched fields and restore what the dry years have taken. Steady the hands of families managing operating loans and hard decisions, and give courage to rural communities whose lives are tied to the land.
We thank You for a revival stirring in the towns, for the generosity poured into Wichita’s churches and schools, and for congregations growing in devotion even in seasons of change.
Grant wisdom, humility, and unity to Governor Kelly and Kansas’s leaders, that they would govern with the neighbor-helping-neighbor spirit this state was built on. Root Your Word deep in Kansas soil — in her sanctuaries, her classrooms, her fields, and her statehouse. Ground them, not in their own strength, but in Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
You care for the land and water it; you enrich it abundantly. The streams of God are filled with water to provide the people with grain, for so you have ordained it. Psalm 65:9 NIV
“How often at night, when the heavens are bright, With the light of the glittering stars, Have I stood here amazed and asked as I gazed, If their glory exceeds this of ours.” — Brewster M. Higley ‘Home on the Range’ State Song of Kansas (1947)
