Lord God, we thank You for the beauty of Arizona—the wide desert skies, red canyons, mountains, and valleys that declare Your craftsmanship—and for the communities and resources that flourish in this land. We praise You for friendly, multigenerational churches and ministries that worship, disciple, and serve across the state.
We ask for Your healing hand over Arizona’s addiction and mental health crisis, where many are battling substance abuse, fentanyl and other opioids, alcohol misuse, anxiety, and depression. Bring freedom, recovery, and hope to those in bondage, and comfort to families grieving overdose and suicide.
Strengthen those who are homeless or living under heavy financial strain, and provide stable housing, work, and community support. Encourage caregivers, counselors, pastors, and volunteers serving in treatment centers, care ministries, and crisis lines—renew their strength and compassion day by day.
Grant wisdom, courage, and integrity to Arizona’s local and state leaders, health workers, and first responders as they confront addiction, mental illness, homelessness, and border-related challenges. Let Your church walk in unity, mercy, and truth, and let Your light shine in every neighborhood, city, and rural community across Arizona. Amen.
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 ESV
“Tell me: have you ever seen stars in a more black-velvety sky, or seen them so large, vivid and intense? Was ever mountain coloring more tender, soft, alluring than at dawn, or more richly radiant than at sunset? “ — George Wharton James “Arizona, the Wonderland” (1917)
