Lord, We come before You with gratitude for those who serve along our vast and watchful shores—the United States Coast Guard, often unseen yet ever vigilant. You have entrusted them with the protection of our coasts, our rivers, our lakes, and every waterway that sustains and connects this nation.
Lord, we thank You for the men and women who have answered this quiet but vital calling. You have placed within them a spirit of service, courage, and sacrifice. Bless them for their willingness to stand guard where others seldom look.
Grant them integrity of heart in all they do. Strengthen them with steadfast courage in every mission, whether in calm waters or raging storms. Fill their minds with wisdom, that their decisions may be just and guided by Your truth.
Be their compass, O Lord, when direction is uncertain. Be their shelter when the seas rise and the winds howl. Surround them with Your divine protection, guarding their lives and the lives of those they rescue.
Let Your presence go before them and remain with them always. May Your love cover them, Your peace sustain them, and Your hand bring them safely home.
He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea[a] were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Psalm 107:29-30 NIV
“From protecting our natural resources to providing maritime security and national defense, the Coast Guard’s duties are broad in scope, and the performance of those duties has never been more important.” — Russ Carnahan US Representative Missouri 2006

Operation World Pray for Indonesia : Sumatra is the largest unevangelized island on earth. Most of its largest people groups are strongly Muslim. Others practise folk Islam. Many spiritual strongholds must be broken. Christianity is strong here among previously animist peoples (the Batak, Nias, Mentawai), and among the Chinese. The Batak people are successful and migrate all over Indonesia. But their ethnic pride, strong devotion to old customs, and frequent conflict with Sumatran Muslims all hinder their Christian witness. The Chinese live in most cities, and operate 60% of businesses. Pray for Christians to reach beyond their own ethnic groups and witness to the non-Christian peoples around them.
