Almighty God, We come before You with humble hearts, asking that You would awaken within our leaders a deep awareness of this nation’s Godly heritage and of their sacred responsibility before You to protect and honor it. Grant us leaders in every sphere—government, business, education, and home—who hunger for truth and righteousness, who seek sacred honor in all they think, say, and do. Guide and guard their intentions, desires, and plans, that they might walk in wisdom and integrity. Move in the hearts of many who know that faithful service to You can be offered anywhere, even beneath the Capitol’s dome. Raise up those who value principle above politics and servanthood above ambition. May they strive to be true statesmen—men and women of courage, conviction, and humility. Prosper and give favor to those who are sincerely devoted to You, that their influence may increase for the good of our people and the glory of Your Name. Please protect our elected, civic and social leaders and guide them in Your Holy Spirit. Finally, we pray especially for the President, his cabinet, his administration, and his family. Surround them with wise counsel, strengthen them with integrity, and uphold them with Your protecting hand. In all things, may Your will be done in our land.
But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 26 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. 28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:25-28
“Government is a trust, and the officers of the government are trustees. And both the trust and the trustees are created for the benefit of the people.” – U.S. Secretary of State Henry Clay 1829

Operation World Pray for Chile : Social changes in Chile reflect the shifts in life and belief in this traditionally conservative nation. Liberalization yields both positive and negative effects. Divorce was only recently legalized; before that, the number of marriages performed dropped by 45%, and 60% of children were born out of wedlock. Teen pregnancy was a widespread problem in the past, now, Chile’s birthrate has become one of the lowest in the world. Crime, drug abuse and materialism are all on the rise. Many are disaffiliating themselves from traditional religious structures, with large numbers leaving both Catholicism and Pentecostalism. Pray that the positive aspects of traditional social structures would be affirmed and strengthened.
