Father, in America, the question used to be, “Ask what you can do for your country.” However, it now seems to be, “What have you done for me lately, country?” We repent from our tendency to rely on “Caesar” for our daily sustenance. Help us to place our trust in You above any earthly or material source. And guide us to be Your hands and heart in caring for the genuine needs of the most vulnerable among us.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35 (ESV)

“May a happiness be granted to those I most tenderly love, which shall continue and increase through an endless existence. Your cares and burdens must be many and great, but put your trust in that God Who has hitherto supported you and me; He will not fail to take care of those who put their trust in Him….It is most evident that this land is under the protection of the Almighty, and that we shall be saved not by our wisdom nor by our might, but by the Lord of Host Who is wonderful in counsel and Almighty in all His operations.” Oliver Wolcott Letters of Delegates to Congress April 10, 1776

Operation World Pray for Benin : Benin remains one of the world’s least-developed countries. Efforts to help the economy often fail because of corruption. Almost 75% of economic activity is “underground” or illegal, with ties to Nigerian interests. Some suspect that criminals smuggle tens of thousands of children out of Benin each year to sell them as child labourers. Pray for justice and righteousness to grow in Benin, and for Nigeria’s influence to be more positive and godly. Despite these challenges, Benin is one of the few places where there is freedom, receptivity, and fruitfulness in reaching Muslim peoples with the Good News.

War Prayers: Be Angry and Do Not Sin – Cliff Graham

Be angry, and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.
Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the LORD.
-Psalm 4:4-5

Lord God of my salvation,

Events can anger me beyond description. I will be honest: dealing with people is hard. Sometimes I feel hate rising up more often than love.

I repent, Father, in the Name of Jesus.

Help me understand and discern how it is possible to feel anger and avoid sinning.

Let me be angry at the things that make you angry.

Let me love the things you love.

I offer myself as a sacrifice to you. Anything you would have me do, I will do.

I place all of my trust in you.

Amen.
