Awaken and convict fathers in this country of the role You have given them to provide for their families.

And He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children  Ephesians 4:11-14

The fathers of our families are the best citizens of the Republic. Wife and children are the sources of patriotism, and conjugal and parental affection beget devotion to the country. The man who is surrounded in his single home with his wife and children has a stake in the country which inspires him with respect for its laws and courage for its defense.” ~ President Grover Cleveland – December 8, 1885

Operation World Pray for Yemen : Yemen has suffered in recent decades from three civil wars, tribal conflicts, and war in nearby countries. Currently Yemen is divided between Shi’a Houthi rebels who control much of the country and Sunni forces supporting the ousted President. Radical Islamist groups like Al Qaeda and ISIS have seized on the chaos to take control of other areas. Neighbouring countries such as Saudi Arabia, U.A.E. and Iran have used Yemen as a theatre for their own proxy wars. Western governments, including the USA and UK, continue to sell arms that are used by their allies to indiscriminately take Yemeni lives. Many civilians have died in bombings, including people in schools, hospitals, and prisons. As a result of all this upheaval, much of the population has faced food shortages and even starvation in recent years. Few children can regularly go to school and fewer adults have a reliable income. May the God of peace and justice bring both to this land of great suffering.

And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. Luke 2:7 (ESV)

Today’s fathers need the Holy Spirit’s conviction brought upon them for their lack of responsibility as the spiritual leader of the home. Too often the spiritual matters are left up to the mother. A father, as the priest of the home, should never relegate their spiritual responsibility to the mother! Our homes need need spiritual and priestly fathers. This will provide spiritual glue for the family to stay together and live in harmony.
