Let us never take for granted the free land You have given us. Please show us, Lord, how to do our part to secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and those to come.
“This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Hebrews 10:16 (NLT)
“Whatever makes men good Christians, makes them good citizens.” ~ Daniel Webster US Senator and Secretary of State December 22, 1820 A Discourse Delivered at Plymouth
Operation World Pray for Uganda : Uganda works hard to recover from many years of war, violence, and heavy-handed government. Pray for peace within the troubled region and the nation. The current president has been in power since 1986. Uganda has attracted attention through widespread child labour, allegations of widespread use of torture by those in power, and its incendiary approach to LGBT issues. Amidst these many points of concern, Christian NGOs and ministries provide aid, shelter, counselling, spiritual ministry, and education. Uganda has one of the world’s highest proportions of evangelical Christians. Pray for God’s people to be at the heart of the nation’s restoration.
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. Matthew 24:42 (NIV)
