As we work to provide for our families, Lord, we ask You to cultivate in us an “attitude of gratitude” about provisions of life gained, and give us the strength to resist a culture of materialism and covetousness.
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. Proverbs 2:7
And may God grant that His grace may really affect your heart with suitable impressions of His goodness. Remember that God made you, that God keeps you alive and preserves you from all harm, and gives you all the powers and the capacity whereby you are able to read of Him and of Jesus Christ, your Savior and Redeemer, and to do every other needful business of life. And while you look around you and see the great privileges and advantages you have above what other children have, you must remember not to be proud on that account but to bless God and be thankful and endeavor in your turn to assist others with the knowledge you may gain. ~ Henry Marchant September 9, 1777 Letters of Delegates to Congress
Operation World Pray for Turkey : Give praise for the slow but steady growth of Turkish evangelical Christianity. Turkish and Kurdish believers probably numbered around 10 in 1960 but rose to around 4,000 by 2010. Many hoped for or expected greater growth of the Church. But while small in number, it grew stronger and more mature. The growth of the 1990s and early 2000s slowed down when faced with spiritual, legal, and cultural opposition. Pray for the evangelism and church planting of the past generation to carry on! Meanwhile there is a remarkable turning to Christ of migrants from Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere who are refugees in Türkiye. While ministry to Turks and Kurds is watched closely, there seems to be greater freedom to minister to these refugees. Many are praying that the shaking of the nation from the 2023 earthquakes would trigger a mass movement of people to find and follow Jesus.
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Psalms 68:19 (NIV)
