Father in heaven, help us restore a sense of national dignity. Teach us to be virtuous people, worthy of respect. Let the world witness Your truth and grace reflected in our citizenry. Make us ever mindful to treat others as we would want to be treated.
If you truly change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow… then I will let you live in this place. Jeremiah 7:5-7
“We ought to cultivate peace, commerce, and friendship with all nations, and this not merely as the best means of promoting our own material interests, but in a spirit of Christian benevolence toward our fellow-men, wherever their lot may be cast.” ~ President James Buchanan – March 4, 1857

Pray for the Solomon Islands. Ethnic diversity and a divided geography (6 major island groups) create a divided society. Tribes and political groups live together, but struggle to form a unified nation. Outside intervention brought peace in 2003 and disarmed the militias, but deep divisions remain. These language and culture barriers also inhibit Christian work. Each small ethnic group needs a different approach and language resources. Denominations divide along tribal lines. Pray that Christianity may take root in each group in a relevant way, and can overcome division. Pray for true forgiveness and reconciliation that come only through repentance. Without these, the nation can never truly progress.
II Corinthians 4:18 NLT So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
