Yesterday’s Amazon Web Services outage shines light on our too dependance on the internet and connectivity. But my inbox was sure a lot quieter.

Downdetector, a website that monitors internet outages, reports that over 2,000 companies worldwide have been affected. This includes 8.1 million reports of problems from users, with 1.9 million reports in the US, 1 million in the UK, and 418,000 in Australia.

Many of the sites were restored within a few hours, but some continued to face persistent issues throughout the day. By Monday evening, Amazon announced that all of its cloud services had resumed normal operations.
