“Save As” has returned in OS X Mountain Lion, but it still modifies the original file in addition to the newly saved file, which defeats the overall purpose of how Save As is used. Now in 10.8.2 there is now an option to toggle that prevents this from happening.
Now in the Save As dialog box there is a check box, “Keep changes in original document”. Uncheck that and Save As performs as expected.
